Benefex celebrates four award wins at the Stevie Awards, alongside customers ScottishPower and Ocado Logistics

19-09-2023

Benefexers Will Davidson and Sarah Wilson, attended the Stevie Awards 2023 ceremony in New York yesterday, where Benefex won four awards – two in conjunction with ScottishPower and Ocado Logistics.

The Stevie Awards for Great Employers recognise the world’s best employers and the human resources professionals, teams, achievements and HR-related products and suppliers who help create and drive great places to work. The Stevie’s are a global awards body and more than 100 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s winners.

Best CSR Strategy – ScottishPower, supported by Benefex

Congratulations to ScottishPower for winning Silver in the Best CSR Stratgey category, recognising their successful alignment of their CSR strategy with their benefits strategy.

ScottishPower is the first integrated energy company in the UK to generate 100% green electricity. As a principal partner for COP26, ScottishPower is committed to tackling climate change and delivering the infrastructure to support Net Zero. They wanted to reflect these goals by helping their employees take steps to live more sustainably, so their Reward and Benefits teams aligned employee benefits, communications, and technology to this company objective.

They introduced a host of green benefits and turned OneHub into a central home for everything they do for their employees. Some of the benefits they offer to employees include salary sacrifice electric vehicles with Tusker, and EV loan, EV grant, public transport season ticket loans, First Bus Discounts, green pension investment funds , payroll giving, and a ‘Count Us In’ website (where employees can engage in inter departmental competition, scoring points by pledging to reduce personal carbon emissions).

Highlights:

  • Since its launch in June 2022, 230 employees have joined the EV salary sacrifice scheme which means that up to 230 petrol/diesel cars are off the road – an annual saving of 460 tonnes of CO2 emissions (a conservative estimate is that each EV saves 2 tonnes of CO2 per year).
  • Benefex recently launched Trees with Benefits; so far 300 trees have been planted as a result of Marketplace benefit selections by ScottishPower employees.
  • 143 employees signed up for the cycle-to-work scheme, also reducing CO2 emissions.
  • OneHub logins increased 136% from the 2022 enrolment period to the 2023 enrolment period, despite only a 2.9% increase in headcount over that period.
  • Employees are engaging with their benefits more regularly – 1 in 3 employees now visit the site throughout the year.

Jenny McCosh, Benefits Manager at ScottishPower said “It’s fantastic to be recognised for our flexible benefits scheme, which reflects our business commitment to sustainability and gives our employees a tangible way to live our values. It’s making a real difference to employees and the environment.”

Best Reward and Recognition Strategy – Ocado Logistics, supported by Benefex

Congratulations to Ocado Logistics for winning Bronze in the Best Reward and Recognition category, recognising the impact of their ‘All Stars’ recognition strategy.

With 15,00 people across the UK, Ocado Logistics ensures thousands of orders are delivered daily. Prior to implementing their new recognition platform, Ocado Logistics had ten different employee recognition schemes. So, they gathered employee feedback from 34 focus groups which revealed employees simply wanted regular, in the moment recognition from their peers and managers, something that’s not always easy to do in person when employees are out on the road or in a busy warehouse.

Ocado Logistics partnered with Benefex to deliver ‘All Stars’ – a single, unified, digital recognition platform, accessible to all employees.

Highlights:

  • 68% of employees have logged in, which is especially high when you consider the majority of employees aren’t based at a desk.
  • 66% of employees have received a reward through All Stars – compared to 1% previously.
  • 10,000+ recognitions have been given since launch.
  • Some employees have received nearly 50 recognitions since launch, highlighting some real stars in the business.
  • 64% of employees are regularly using the platform to recognise colleagues.

Harriet Reddish, Head of Communications and Engagement at Ocado Logistics, said of their win, “It was really important for us to find a way to say thank you to all of our colleagues who go above and beyond every day supporting their peers, customers, and the business as a whole. All Stars has given us the opportunity to recognise anyone, anywhere, and celebrate success, so we’re delighted to have won this award!”

Benefits Management Solution – Benefex

We’re delighted to have been placed Gold in the Benefits Management Solution category.

Last year, Benefex launched its new instance of OneHub to help organisations build experiences around employee expectations. 86% of global employees say that they would like to be able to access all the benefits, content, and resources that they get from their employer in one place. Yet, HR leaders are often managing disjoined systems across wellbeing, culture, content, communications, policies and benefits.

Benefex launched OneHub Home to help organisations show the value of everything they do for their people. Our customers are using OneHub to:

  • Elevate employee benefits – turning them into an everyday resource rather than a once-a-year consideration.
  • Create a home for wellbeing – connecting workplace wellbeing experiences across content, communications, policies and benefits.
  • Supercharge company culture – shining a light on all the incredible things happening across the organisation.

Commenting on the win, Benefex Founder and CEO, Matt Macri-Waller commented, “It’s fantastic to win gold at the Stevie Awards for ‘Benefits Management Solutionin recognition for the exceptional employee experiences our platform delivers for millions of employees around the world

OneHub is doing away with disjointed digital experiences and making it quicker and easier for employees to find the information they need, engage with their benefits, and make more informed choices. At the same time, we’re helping HR and Reward leaders achieve their global benefits, wellbeing, recognition and reward objectives with one employee experience platform.

HR Technology Solution Provider of the Year – Benefex

Being placed Silver in this competitive category is a phenomenal achievement and testament to the hard work of our teams. Supporting more than 2 million employees in 650 global organisations across 80 countries, OneHub is transforming how people experience work every day.

Benefex CSMO, Will Davidson, who attended the awards evening in New York concluded, “Thank you to the Stevie Awards organisers for a brilliant evening. We’re delighted to win four awards, alongside our customers Ocado Logistics and ScottishPower who are doing some incredible things for their people across recognition, benefits and wellbeing.”
